EmSculpt Treatment in Cleveland, Ohio

The Emsculpt device is FDA-approved to tone and strengthen abdominal muscles and tone and lift the buttocks and is a far safer alternative to more invasive procedures such as liposuction. So far, studies have shown no safety concerns with Emsculpt, but because it’s a relatively new technology (it was approved in 2018) little is known about the long-term effects that the strong electromagnetic waves may have on internal organs.

The only known side effect of Emsculpt is temporary muscle soreness, much like you’d get after a particularly strenuous workout at the gym. Similar procedures can result in redness, bruising, swelling, and numbness, but this is not the case with Emsculpt and patients are even able to exercise that same day.

How long the results of an Emsculpt treatment last will depend on the lifestyle of the patient. Emsculpt builds muscle and burns fat. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they’re gone permanently but the remaining fat cells can get larger if subsequent weight is gained. Muscle tone can be lost, just as if you go to the gym a handful of times and then never go again; the same is true for Emsculpt. You can expect to keep the results for six months to a year, but in order to maintain them it is recommended that you keep to a healthy diet and exercise regimen; some patients opt to have further Emsculpt sessions as their form of maintenance.

The five areas of the body cleared for treatment by the FDA are the buttocks, abdomen, arms, thighs, and calves. Each area can be sculpted and toned, but not every area will need a reduction in fat – for example in areas like the buttocks, Emsculpt will use only electromagnetic pulses to increase muscle mass. The most popular treatment area for men is the abs and for women, it’s the buttocks. The Emsculpt device has two sizes of applicator – a large one for the buttocks and abdomen, and a small one for the arms, inner and outer thighs, and calves.

Results can be felt immediately after an Emsculpt treatment, usually small changes initially, like improvements in posture or becoming less fatigued whilst doing exercise; most patients will see visible results after about three months.
